Day one of Life Is Beautiful in Vegas was led by the iconic presence of Stevie Wonder, but before Wonder took the Downtown Stage at 11 there were several notable performances. As is always the case there were a lot of new or emerging artists who stood out. Here were five of our favorites.
Vegas resident Lofty won his spot at Life Is Beautiful thanks to his tropical EDM sounding “The Mountain,” featuring vocals by Bonx. The song was voted number one on a Wavo and Insomniac Discovery contest. The DJ/producer took advantage of the opportunity with a stellar hour-long set marked not just by “The Mountain,” but by several warm, appealing grooves. He proved himself an artist to watch and deserving of his spot on the bill.

Everyone’s childhood hero Bill Nye the Science Guy made an unexpected cameo at the Troubadour stage for this year’s Life is Beautiful festival in Vegas. He was scheduled as a speaker for this year’s festival already, but his appearance at the Troubadour stage was a real treat for those that couldn’t make it into his packed house for his official appearance.
This is exciting. Earmilk is one of our fave blogs and this is the first time they’ve ever posted about a Ryan Lofty track.
Las Vegas producer Ryan Lofty is known for cooking up some melodic, sun-kissed house tunes. Completely carefree and fun, his latest remix of Mansions on the Moon’s “Don’t Tell” is the perfect thing to take us out of summer and into fall. It has that fleeting spirit of the warmer months, but it’s still taken over by the chill airiness of Lofty’s production style. His remix mostly holds true to the original track from Mansions on the Moon’s latest album, although Lofty tweaks the track just enough to make it more suitable for dancing. Grab this remix for free via SoundCloud, and if you’re in the Las Vegas area, check out Ryan Lofty this Friday at the Life is Beautiful festival.
Young house producer Ryan Lofty delivers more sunset flavored magic before the west coast summer ends on his latest offering – a chilled out version of “Don’t Tell” by Los Angeles based Mansions on the Moon. The Las Vegas based Lofty was just tapped to perform at his hometown jam, Life Is Beautiful – where he will be holding down a 4:00 PM set on Friday September 25th at their Troubadour Stage and hopefully dropping this gem in the sunshine. If you know what’s up in the nu-house game or you just want to bear witness to one of those moments in a rapidly rising young talent’s career – do not sleep on Lofty’s set.

Life is beautiful right now for Las Vegas based Ryan Lofty (pun intended). The talented DJ / producer has dropped fresh music every month this summer, a promise he made back in the Spring. His fanbase continues to amass and his play counts aren’t showing any signs of slowing from their skyrocketing pace.
Ryan is building his brand beyond URL too. Earlier this month he took Insomniac’s “Discovery Project“, winning the chance to perform at Insomniac’s Life is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas. Fans and industry folks are taking notice and it’s paying off for the humble homie.
